Tramadol Sustained Release tablets must be swallowed whole with the help of water. The medication may be taken with or without food; before or after meal. Do not chew or crush Tramadol SR before using it. Dissolving is also strictly recommended against. The recommended dosage for this medication is a 50 mg tablet to be taken twice a day. You might also be advised to take a 100 mg tablet once or twice a day. 150 mg and 200 mg tablet of this medication is also available. It will be up to your doctor to decide the ideal medication dosage for you. Different patients respond differently to Tramadol SR. It is seen that the patients are initially put on smaller dosages. If you are taking 50 mg tablets of this medication; the number of tablets taken during a single day’s period should not exceed eight. In case of the 100 mg tablets; do not exceed the quantity by four. If you are taking the 150 mg or the 200 mg tablets; make sure that the maximum number of tablets is limited to two per day. Do not take two dosages without keeping a minimum gap of 12 hours between each.
